Unrooted non-binary tree-based phylogenetic networks

چکیده

Phylogenetic networks are a generalization of phylogenetic trees allowing for the representation non-treelike evolutionary events such as hybridization. Typically, have been analyzed based on their ‘level’, i.e. complexity 2-edge-connected components. However, recently question how ‘treelike’ network is has become center attention in various studies. This led to introduction tree-based networks, that can be constructed from tree, called base by adding additional edges. While concept tree-basedness was originally introduced rooted it also considered unrooted networks. In present study, we compare and contrast findings obtained binary non-binary particular, while known up level 4 all tree-based, show case this result only holds 3.

Tree-Based Unrooted Phylogenetic Networks

Phylogenetic networks are a generalization of phylogenetic trees that are used to represent non-tree-like evolutionary histories that arise in organisms such as plants and bacteria, or uncertainty in evolutionary histories. An unrooted phylogenetic network on a non-empty, finite set X of taxa, or network, is a connected, simple graph in which every vertex has degree 1 or 3 and whose leaf set is...

Tree-Based Unrooted Nonbinary Phylogenetic Networks

Phylogenetic networks are a generalisation of phylogenetic trees that allow for more complex evolutionary histories that include hybridisation-like processes. It is of considerable interest whether a network can be considered ‘tree-like’ or not, which lead to the introduction of tree-based networks in the rooted, binary context. Tree-based networks are those networks which can be constructed by...

Quartets and Unrooted phylogenetic Networks

Phylogenetic networks were introduced to describe evolution in the presence of exchanges of genetic material between coexisting species or individuals. Split networks in particular were introduced as a special kind of abstract network to visualize conflicts between phylogenetic trees which may correspond to such exchanges. More recently, methods were designed to reconstruct explicit phylogeneti...

On Tree-Based Phylogenetic Networks

A large class of phylogenetic networks can be obtained from trees by the addition of horizontal edges between the tree edges. These networks are called tree-based networks. We present a simple necessary and sufficient condition for tree-based networks and prove that a universal tree-based network exists for any number of taxa that contains as its base every phylogenetic tree on the same set of ...

Topology Selection in Unrooted Molecular Phylogenetic Tree By Minimum Model-Based Complexity Method

In reconstruction of phylogenetic trees from molecular data, it has been pointed out that multifurcate phylogenetic trees are difficult to be correctly reconstructed by the conventional methods like maximum likelihood method(ML). In order to resolve this problem, we have been engaged in developing a new phylogenetic tree reconstruction method, based on the minimum complexity principle widely us...
